LifeStraw Donation

We had a wonderful Earth Day celebration with a lovely weather and plenty of activities. We sold many eco-shopping bags and part of the money was donated to buy LifeStraws.

What are LifeStraws in case you missed the poster with the explanation?

A portable water purifier that cleans most of the surface water and makes it safe for human consumption. If looks like a big straw and you can put it around your neck. If filters up to 700 liters of water, removing most of the micro-organisms responsible for causing waterborne diseases. Thus it prevents diseases such as typhoid, cholera, diarrhea and dysentery.

We collected $200 and we donated them to a charity IMA for a project to buy LifeStraws for people living in Eastern DR Congo where there is high risk of cholera. Our gift saved a life!

Thank you!
